About Neurodivergent Joy - Autism Advocacy Mission

Advocating with Authenticity and Compassion

Neurodivergent Joy was founded by a lived experience advocate passionate about sharing the realities of autism. Our mission is to create understanding and acceptance through honest dialogue, educational speaking engagements, and steadfast community support that uplifts neurodiverse voices.

I'm Ed Shearer, a late-diagnosed autistic and ADHD speaker who helps organisations better understand neurodivergent people through lived experience, practical insight and engaging training.

I was diagnosed in 2020, at the age of 47. I saw there was little or no support for the older people.

For several years I've worked alongside NHS services and improvement projects to help create better outcomes for autistic people. From within and without.  I am an involvement Rep with the NHS.

In recent years, I've been able to share my experience with others, by giving talks and presentations. I have als been presenting Training for health professionals.

I am DBS enhanced checked Cert no 001958651331

Meet Ed

I'm Ed, a late-diagnosed autistic and ADHD speaker who helps organisations better understand neurodivergent people through lived experience, practical insight and engaging training.

  • Over 4 decades of lived experience
  • A unique perspective of being autistic in the workplace and undiagnosed
  • Someone who has learned to fight the system and advocate for myself.
  • I currently have several talks ready to go and they can be adjusted to suit the audience.
  • Most importantly, I offer a compassionate voice for all autistic people
